The Insel orchestral school and the Sinfonieorchester Basel invite you to a special performance of Noye's Fludde by Benjamin Britten in the Elisabethenkirche. This production is the high point of the collaboration between the two institutions. Under the leadership of Stefano Mariani around 180 performers, 165 of them children, present the fascinating story of the biblical flood, an environmental disaster that only a few people and animals survived in an ark. English composer Benjamin Britten set this event to music with a great deal of originality, and not without a dash of irony. This entertaining semi-staged performance lasts around 60 minutes.
