Nowadays, the story of Babar is both a classic and a worldwide success. In 1931, Jean de Brunhoff wrote and illustrated the story of a little elephant who loses his mother to hunters and then finds happiness in the city. But Babar begins to feel homesick, which leads him back to adventures in the jungle... Conducted by Francesc Prat, the members of the Sinfonieorchester Basel play Francis Poulenc’s version for orchestra with speaker Vincent Leittersdorf.
