The sisters Onutė Gražinytė and Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla both studied at the Čiurlionis School of Art in Vilnius. The Lithuanian Čiurlionis was a synesthetes and was close to Skrjabin. He achieved great fame not only as a composer, but also as a painter. Raminta Šerkšnytė is a Lithuanian composer whose works oscillate between ecstasy and tension and correspond perfectly with the palatable orchestral colours of Ravel's Daphnis et Chloé.
