Phone 118: a tree has fallen across a road and must be cleared. A cat won’t come down from the roof. A wasps’ nest needs to be removed. And then: nee-naw, nee-naw: the firefighters rush to the site of the fire, blue lights flashing, and roll out metres of hose. With music by Bach, Albinoni, Holborne and Bernstein played on trumpets, bugle, trombone and tuba.
