Commented concerts for school classes

The mega.musik concerts offer school classes a commented musical experience and are aimed at students from the age of 12. The programme and presentation are developed in collaboration with the class, which then leads the audience through the concert. Interviews with conductors, soloists and orchestra musicians are as much a part of the programme as the performance of classics from the orchestral repertoire. With the 'Symphonic Games' project, the Sinfonieorchester Basel is linking the world of classical music with the world of video game music for the first time. Young people are invited to accompany and actively participate in the composition process of video game composer Michel Barengo.

Registration for the presentation: 
School classes (from grade 10) can register by emailing Lana Zickgraf.
Registration deadline for the 1st School Concert: 30 June 2024
Registration deadline for the 2nd School Concert: 1 October 2024

Registration for the 'Symphonic Games' project:
Young people aged 12 and over who wish to take an active part in the project should register by emailing Lana Zickgraf. Deadline: 1 September 2024

Symphony concerts at a special rate

All symphony concerts are available to school groups at a special rate of CHF 10 per person for groups of 10 or more (including adult supervisor). Information on programmes and performers can be found in the General Programme or in our Concert Calendar.

Each concert is preceded by an introduction at 6.30 pm.
