The Sinfonieorchester Basel invites you to a benefit concert at the Stadtcasino Basel to express its solidarity with the Ukrainian people. The Sinfonieorchester Basel is especially grateful for the spontaneous commitment of the three Ukrainian soloists Iryna Krasnovska (piano), Inna Fedorii (soprano) and Nataliia Kukhar (mezzo-soprano) from Theater Basel. The proceeds will go to the Swiss association 'Kiev Kids', which, among other things, runs a children's centre near Kiev and provides humanitarian aid on site.
The Sinfonieorchester Basel wrote the following statement on 1 March in view of the current situation in Ukraine:
"We are alarmed by Russia's brutal attacks on Ukraine. This war on European soil is also an attack on peace and democracy in our world. Our sympathy goes out to all the people in the Ukraine and the victims this brutal war has already claimed. It is all the more important to strengthen and unite our international community through the power of art. The Sinfonieorchester Basel stands in solidarity with the people in the Ukraine, with those who are suffering and have to experience this inconceivably cruel time. Our thoughts are with them."
