Shortly before the permanent transformation of the Oekolampad, the Sinfonieorchester Basel transforms the former church from 1931 into a spectacular space-sound concert hall. Composer in Residence' Péter Eötvös on his violin concerto Seven: "49 musicians are divided into 7 groups, besides the solo violin there are 6 other violins distributed in the hall. They are like seven satellites or souls, floating sonorously in space." Helena Winkelman circles the audience with her percussion premiere Goblins. The Austrian composer Klaus Lang creates "quasi timeless spaces" with his breathtaking sound surfaces as a musical response to the painting Red and White Plum Tree by the Japanese painter Ogata Korin.
