The Friends of the Sinfonieorchester Basel is a community of like-minded individuals united by their love of classical music and appreciation of the orchestra. Thanks to their support, the Friends have become an important pillar of the orchestra.

We support the musicians in a variety of ways. Our contributions help to foster a positive atmosphere for the orchestra in Basel and the surrounding region, and strengthen musical life. The Friends of the Sinfonieorchester Basel offer their members a rich and varied programme of exclusive events with the orchestra. Selected events also provide special opportunities to interact directly with the musicians. In this way, we promote shared musical experiences and exchanges among our members.

What we offer

Chamber Music Concerts
Various exclusive concerts are held regularly for members of the Friends' Association at the Sinfonieorchester Basel's rehearsal centre at Picassoplatz 2.

Tickets are available online.
Prices:
CHF 20 for Friends of the Sinfonieorchester Basel members
CHF 40 for guests.

General meeting with aperitif
Our annual meeting is an opportunity to report on our activities and to socialise over drinks and snacks afterwards.

Musician portraits
We encourage contact with the orchestra and regularly introduce individual musicians to you.

Museum Night at Basler Münster (Cathedral)
During Museum Night in January, various ensembles from the Sinfonieorchester Basel perform at Basel Münster. Members of the Friends' Association are invited to an aperitif with the musicians.

Rehearsal visit to the Sinfonieorchester Basel
These visits offer exciting insights into the orchestra's rehearsal work.

Lectures
Expand your knowledge with a variety of lectures on classical music and the Sinfonieorchester Basel.

Depending on your membership level, you will receive various discounts and privileges reserved exclusively for Friends of the Sinfonieorchester Basel members.

Adagio

CHF 100 per person / CHF 150 per couple
(Students up to the age of 28 receive a 50% discount)
This membership includes:
• a welcome gift of a CD by the Sinfonieorchester Basel
• invitation to the annual general meeting, including aperitifs and a presentation of the new season's programme
• reduced admission to chamber music concerts (CHF 20)
• an invitation to other events organised by the Friends, such as musician portraits, rehearsal visits, Museum Night aperitifs, and lectures
Andante

CHF 500 for individuals / CHF 750 for couples
This membership includes:
• all Adagio benefits
• at least one CD from the Sinfonieorchester Basel per year
• reduced admission to concerts in the 'Kammermusik am Picassoplatz' chamber music series (CHF 20)
• an invitation to guest performances by the Sinfonieorchester Basel at special rates, depending on the organiser's offer
• opportunities for personal conversations with musicians in small groups
• an invitation to the orchestra barbecue at Picassoplatz at the end of June to celebrate the end of the season
Allegro

CHF 1000.– for individuals / CHF 1500.– for couples
This membership includes:
• all Andante benefits
• an invitation to a gala dinner with the conductor, management and soloists (held approximately every two years)
• Preferential consideration for guest performances by the Sinfonieorchester Basel. You will be the first to hear about any offers
• if you wish, you can be mentioned as a patron in a public publication of the Sinfonieorchester Basel
