What does Basel sound like?

With this question in mind, a nine-member ensemble of the Sinfonieorchester Basel took to the road with its Singalong Mobile from January to June 2024, visiting schools, choirs and institutions. Their repertoire: a collection of international folk songs chosen by the people of Basel. From Z'Basel an mym Rhy to Bella Ciao, the project brought together people from different cultural backgrounds to sing as one community. Under the direction of Chiara Selva and Timo Waldmeier, and supported by the singers of the Mädchenkantorei Basel, a musical mosaic was created that celebrates the diversity of our city.
