Room rental & Guided tours
The rehearsal room of the Sinfonieorchester Basel on Picassoplatz is a special place, both musically and architecturally.
Designed by the renowned firm Beer Merz Architekt:innen, the building combines functional acoustics with modern aesthetics, with clear lines and generous natural light. The rehearsal room, which is approximately 380 m² in size and has a stage and gallery, boasts excellent acoustics, a historic Kuhn organ dating from 1935, and high-quality technical equipment.
Prices
The hall is ideal for internal events such as workshops, seminars and club meetings. Rental prices start at CHF 800 (CHF 500 for non-profit organisations). Infrastructure includes height-adjustable orchestra chairs, music stands and acoustic curtains, with the option of adding a projector and screen. Public events are not permitted, but educational formats can be arranged on request.
Guided tours of the building
Regardless of room rental, groups can book a guided tour lasting around one hour. Participants will gain insights into the architecture, acoustic design, and working methods of a professional orchestra. Cost: CHF 250 per group.
