Experience the principal conductor from a different perspective. Our new series of talks.
What does the future hold for symphony concerts? At a time when music is available anytime, anywhere, the Sinfonieorchester Basel's new series of talks explores the prospects for a vibrant concert format.
Together with principal conductor Markus Poschner, musicologists Melanie Wald-Fuhrmann (Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics) and Irena Müller-Brozović (Anton Bruckner Private University Linz) as well as Fiona Stevens, managing director of the Basel Sinfonietta, discuss the social significance of the symphony concert and its possible future forms. The discussion will be moderated by Benjamin Herzog, music dramaturg of the Sinfonieorchester Basel.
The conversation will be accompanied by musical performances from Markus Poschner on the piano, violinist Vincent Brunel, and timpanist Domenico Melchiorre.
After the concert, Ullrich Catering will be serving burgers (both vegetarian and meat options).
