Together with the Theater Basel choir, the Sinfonieorchester Basel is staging a colorful program to mark the turn of the year. Also included: a preview of spring!

The Sinfonieorchester Basel and Theater Basel are ringing in the new year together with swinging rhythms as part of their partnership! Summertime is the name of the most famous hit from George Gershwin's opera Porgy and Bess. And we can always use a little summer, especially in the depths of winter. With a medley from Gershwin's opera Porgy and Bess, the Sinfonieorchester Basel and the Basel Theater Choir are setting the mood for spring and offering a preview of the symphony concert ‹Summertime› in April. Fantastics before with the overture to the magical opera Ruslan and Lyudmila by Mikhail Glinka. And of course, a little Nutcracker is a must at the turn of the year, especially since the ballet premiere at Theater Basel is still fresh in our minds. The concert features a jazzy arrangement by Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn.
