Anna Sowa on ‘μ Cephei’
First commissioned work in the new ‘Bonus Tracks’ series
New music in dialogue with well-known works: ‘μ-Cephei’ by Anna Sowa is the first commissioned work in the new ‘Bonus Tracks’ series. It responds to the programme ‘Sehnsucht’ (Longing) with works by Saariaho, Schumann, Crumb and Ravel. The title refers to the Garnet Star, one of the reddest stars in the northern sky. The world premiere will take place on 14th and 15th October 2026 at the Stadtcasino Basel, conducted by principal conductor Markus Poschner.
