Thirteen compositions will be nominated in a selection procedure and will be performed in a public competition by the Basel Chamber Orchestra, the Basel Symphony Orchestra and the Basel Sinfonietta. The three best compositions will receive awards and prize money totalling CHF 100 000.

After a successful first performance of the "BASEL COMPOSITION COMPETITION" in February 2017, the second edition will take place from 20 to 24 February 2019.
