Sinfonieorchester Basel
Sebastian Bohren, violin
Ferhan & Ferzan Önder, piano
Ivor Bolton, conductor
Please note: The protection concept for events at Munster Basel is currently limited to a maximum of 100 people. The concert is therefore already sold out due to current bookings.
Giovanni Gabrieli (arr. Roger Harvey):
Sonata Octavi Toni (Sacrae Symphoniae, 1597) for Brass Ensemble
Johann Sebastian Bach:
Partita No. 2 in D minor for Violin solo, BWV 1004
Anton Bruckner:
Symphony No. 7 in E major, WAB 107, arranged for Chamber Orchestra by Hanns Eisler, Erwin Stein and Karl Rankl
Thanks to the Federal Council's relaxed restrictions, the last symphony concert is possible again! However, the programme will be presented in a different, more reduced form than previously assumed. The number of seats in the audience is also limited. So make sure you secure your seats, in keeping with the motto «First come, first serve».
The four-year ‹Bruckner+›-Cycle of the Sinfonieorchester Basel is now coming to an end with an interesting arrangement of the 7th Symphony. The three Schönberg students Hanns Eisler, Erwin Stein and Karl Rankl arranged Bruckner's symphonic work for a chamber orchestra with strings, piano and harmonium. This opens up completely new worlds of sound.
The young Swiss violinist Sebastian Bohren nevertheless makes his debut with the Sinfonieorchester Basel. Not in direct interaction with the orchestra, however, but in solo form: with the unique Ciaconna from J.S. Bach's Partita in D minor.
