"It's like watching movies and being at a live concert at the same time." The experience is indeed a very special one, said a recent Concert & Cinema concert visitor at the Musical Theater Basel. On September 21st, you will hear Hans Zimmer's music while wahtching  'Pirates of the Caribbean' played live by the Basel Symphony Orchestra.

Who doesn't know him? Jack Sparrow, the 'eternal pirate of the movies' has enveloped us in a world of wild seas, adventures, glittering gold dubloons and petrol-washed sailcloth. With Pirates of the Caribbean (The Curse of the Black Pearl), the Basel Symphony Orchestra presents the cinema debut of Johnny Depp as pirate captain Jack Sparrow in its Concert & Cinema series.

What's it all about? Captain Barbossa's pirates, laden with a curse, seize the ship of Pirate Captain Jack Sparrow, attack Port Royal and kidnap the beautiful Elizabeth Swann. The adventurous blacksmith Will Turner and the daring Jack Sparrow take up the pursuit. Neither of them can yet guess what curse is on the pirate...
