Fiery rhythms and sounds from jazz and gypsy music, classical string music and Czech folk sounds: around 30 children from the Orchesterschule Insel play big. With musicians of the Basel Symphony Orchestra and under the direction of Stefani Mariani, they present pieces by Dàniel Csengery and Antonìn Dvoràk, among others.
The Orchesterschule Insel in collaboration with the Sinfonieorchester Basel offers children the opportunity to learn a string instrument. Lessons are free of charge and the children receive an instrument on loan. In addition to classical string repertoire, they play film music and folk music from their many different countries of origin.
